Stolen Party is a short story that incorporates themes on class dynamics and inequality. I used this unit to introduce reading comprehension, point of view, vocabulary, and textually supported writing structures. These resources include student work assessments, a guided power point, a unit outline, an audio file, and a text file. I have also uploaded .doc files so you can edit them as you wish! My students enjoyed the pace of the short unit and loved the story. Ideally this is a unit to introduce student's to ideas of class-ism and constructed writing. The connection to homelessness and Latin America are themes that are applicable to the United States. I was successful in developing my student's writing abilities and introducing them to ideas of class beyond the US border.
