This is a review game that my students absolutely love. Divide your class into two teams, set up "bases" (I use chairs) in the middle of each wall, and let the fun begin! Questions can be displayed on an interactive whiteboard or any projector that connects to a computer.
When a player comes up to bat, he or she must answer a history question correctly in order to get a hit. Any incorrect answer results in an out! Students advance around the bases until their team reaches three outs. You can keep score yourself, or choose a student to do it (some love keeping score even more than playing!)
Sometimes I divide them into teams arbitrarily, by dividing the room into halves, numbering them off by 1's and 2's, etc. However, they always seem a little more competitive when I let them do boys vs. girls :)
This game contains a total of 37 questions and answers on 75 attractively designed slides. It takes about one full class period to get all of the way through.
Questions were based upon Chapter 2 of the Holt or Holt McDougal World History book (The Stone Ages and Early Cultures). However, I think it would be useful for any review of these eras,.
