I used the materials in this resource as part of a stations activity on early human/hominid inventions and the role they played in human survival during the Paleolithic Age and during the age of our evolutionary forebears. Included is a graphic organizer for students to fill out while they rotate through five stations. Each station has a reading about an early human invention, including the Olduvai chopping tool, the Olduvai hand ax, a bone needle, the Clovis spear point, and "Lion Man," a symbolic representation of a half-man half-lion.
This resource is very versatile. It could be used as a stations activity, but also as a jigsaw activity in five person groups.
