This activity has students take on the role of newspaper reporters from the Upper Canada Gazette during the time that Hannah was murdered. Their job is to interview the people around town to find out any information that they can.
While students are writing the newspaper article, they are encouraged to use quotations from "sources" in the town in their writing to support their ideas. A brief look at how to include quotes in writing is included on the handout, as is a marks breakdown.
I also have a variety of other activities for Stones, including a unit test, individual project, essay, and complete unit plan: see my store for more information.
