The Unit Test for William Bell's novel Stones is out of 60 marks and includes a key for teachers. There are five sections to the test: plot, characters, mechanics, vocabulary, and short answer. The plot section is ten marks and entirely multiple-choice. The character section, which is also ten marks, involves a short description or quote and students are to fill in the name on a blank line beside the description or quote. The mechanics section is out of thirteen marks and looks at various elements of the novel such as conflict, setting, theme, and so on. It is multiple-choice. The vocabulary section is out of fifteen marks and is a matching activity. Finally, the short answer section is out of twelve marks and is comprised of four questions.
It is a very comprehensive test, and compliments any unit, including Stones Literature Circle Group Workbook and/or Unit Plan which is in my store.
I also have a variety of other activities for Stones, including a an individual project, essay, and complete unit plan: see my store for more information.
