When we think of the summer slide, reading immediately pops into our minds. Children simply must read over the summer to maintain their skill levels (not to mention the many other benefits wide reading provides). But, what about writing? Can we 'write away' the summer slide?
This little FREEBIE contains a list of essential 'Summer Writer's Notebook Reminders.' Send it with your students as they head into summer, or if you're a parent, post it on the refrigerator to get the summer writing juices flowing!
I've also included a blank summer writing notebook template kids' can personalize and glue onto a spiral notebook or two versions, one for a girl, one for a boy, that already have art.
Also, you MUST see my blog post to read up on how to 'Write Away the Summer Slide!'
It has many more details about how to get summer writing going and includes pictures of my son at work on his fun summer writing! Additionally, you'll see an entry from his summer writer's notebook that may inspire your students/children.
