This lesson is a great way to reinforce the idea of thinking through your actions instead of acting impulsively. In my classroom I had a lot of students who would say things to their classmates without thinking through how others would feel. Additionally, I had students who had trouble following our classroom rules (not because they don't know the rules, but because they forget to think their actions through!)
If you feel the same way, this mini lesson is for you! The stoplight is a symbol students can reference to help them process all the thoughts that come in their heads and choose which actions are appropriate and which are better left unsaid!
This pack includes:
~ Sample lesson plan
~ Blank stoplight worksheet
~ Stoplight worksheet with words
~ Printable stoplight poster to keep in your classroom for reference in the future! (I often say to my students, remember to use the stoplight! )
