Students can use this printable activity to show their prior knowledge of vocabulary words. They color the stoplight green to show they know the word. They use yellow to show that they have heard the word before but they are not sure of the definition. Red means that it is a new vocabulary word for them.
The directions on the worksheet are:
-Write each word on the top line next to the stoplight.
-If you have heard the word before and can put it in a sentence, color the stoplight green. Write the definition or a sentence using that word.
-If you have heard the word before, but can’t put it in a sentence, color the stoplight yellow.
-If you have not heard the word before, color the stoplight red.
