This activity's focus is on the phonological error pattern of "Stopping." This PowerPoint lesson can be used on a SMART Board or printed out. "Stopping" is explained and a kinesthetic approach to identifying when "stopping" is or is not occurring. Students learn to identify when a sound is substituted for the correct sound and is then required to draw an "X" on the correct word as well as a "O" around the incorrect word created by "Stopping." Practice items are provided using pictures. There is also practice section for the students that can read where only the word is provided (no visuals).
