This is a BUNDLED unit with lessons for independent learning focusing on: Character, Plot, Setting, Conflict (& Problem and Solution) and Theme (& Moral)
***PLUS*** Included in the bundle is a final activity template to use with ANY story. Template focuses on story elements: Character, Setting, Plot (B,M,E), Conflict (Problem/Solution) and Theme. (see last page in preview)
Step by step instructions support students' independent learning, reinforced with practice activities - analyzing short films (max 4 mins) and displaying their understanding with online responses.
Some concepts are simplified for younger grades:
- Beginning, Middle, End (in lieu of Plot)
- Problem and Solution (rather than Conflict)
- Moral (instead of Theme)
Included with each learned concept is a generic reading response sheet to be used with ANY story. ( I suggest assigning online books from Epic! )
