Description

This Story Elements Question resource contains over 90 reading comprehension questions and reader response prompts to use for quick oral or written comprehension checks for any fictional resource.

They can be used for reader response prompts, literature circles, guided reading groups, after read alouds, during whole-class shared reading activities, for partner discussions after independent reading, or for language centers. Questions and prompts satisfy common core standards for Reading Standards for Literature (specific standards listed in product).

There are 5 different groups of questions and prompts - one group for each of:

  • Plot
  • Setting
  • Character
  • Theme
  • Conflict

Each group of questions will make its own fan with over 20 different questions or prompts. You can use a particular fan when studying a particular element, or use different fans to reinforce throughout the year. You could also group all the questions together on a binder clip circle and hang near your desk for easy access during reading activities.

I have also included a sheet of blank frames for each story element so you can include your own questions. These frames are not editable, so you will have to write in your added questions.

This resource is included in my Story Elements Bundle which contains 3 fun and engaging activities to supplement the teaching of story elements with any fictional work.

This resource is also included in my Question Fan Bundle for Reading which contains 6 of my Question Fan Resources for Reading at a discounted price.
