If you read chapter books to your students in class, these are perfect for you! This product had a page for students to keep track of the Title, Author, Characters, Setting, and Problems/Solutions throughout the whole story. Print the additional template on the back for students to take notes on each chapter or section you are reading. This would be great for a whole class reading, small groups, or individual chart to keep track of all important story elements. This file has NO PICTURES, it is simple. If you want something cuter, check out my Story Elements Summary Sheets with Pictures file linked here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Story-Elements-Student-Summary-Sheet-WITH-PICTURES-1394754. This could be used as an assessment, scoring participation, or an outline for a book report!
When I teach my chapter books, I read about 1-2 chapters a day. Included with this file are templates for various timelines of books. If you are going to be reading a book in 4-12 sections, there is a template for each one. Depending how you split up your book will determine what template you need for example: If you read Frindle and break it up into 6 parts you will use the 6 shape template and have students write the chapters for that day in the space on each shape.
