This Bundle includes BOTH my Story Elements and Retelling Power Point AND my Story Elements and Retelling Poster/Organizer Packet. See descriptions below for more details!
Story Elements and Retelling Power Point Description:
This Power Point Unit introduces what retelling is, why it is important, and how to write a retelling. The PPT integrates information about story elements and how they are related to retelling. It is recommended to divided up the PPT over 4 to 5 days.
The PPT includes a complete modeled demonstration using the book Too Many Tamales by Gary Soto. You can complete the lesson without this book, but it is a plus if the book is previously read to students. Many of you may already have it in your classroom or school. If you have a copy of this book, read it to your class before presenting the PPT information. There is a review and a suggested independent practice to end the unit.
Story Elements and Retelling Packet Description:
The packet includes posters and student organizers to support understanding of story elements and retelling. I have created different versions of the retelling components in order to meet various needs.
