Twelve passages from classic children's literature including The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Heidi, The Velveteen Rabbit, Dr. Doolittle, and others will help students practice identifying story elements--character, setting, problem, and solution. Each passage is followed by a multiple choice question that requires students to determine the story element on which the passage focuses. The passages could be printed on cardstock and cut into separate cards to use in group or partner work. These would also make great exit slips. An answer key is included.
