Hooking your audience from the beginning is very important when writing a story. This pack includes a variety of story leads you and your students can explore either during reading workshop or writing workshop. Glue the picture cards to popsicle sticks and have your class determine the type of lead used in books read to them or written by them. Students hold up the stick with the lead card and explain their thinking!
