I have been using these Retelling Gloves for years with my students and they LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!! It is a great way to help the students hold themselves accountable for their reading in a concrete, hands-on way. My students keep their gloves right in their Reading Workshop folders with their books. Some choose to put their glove on each time they finish reading a book, but some LOVE their Retelling Gloves so much, they put it on first, and then keep it on during the entire reading time!
Once a week, I have the students complete the page to go along with their retelling to provide concrete evidence of their progress.
