This is a fun and interactive resource that is great for basic story retell, sequencing, and narrative production. No color printer? No problem - The train graphic is available in color and in black & white. Just print the black line drawing on colored paper, laminate, and add some Velcro to use as a visual cue/graphic organizer for story retell. This also encourages students to work together as they build the train and sort the pictures.
Every story has a beginning, middle, and end, just like a train. Students love to connect and label train cars using Velcro and sort pictures from a book on each train car. Students can also use dry-erase markers on laminated pages to draw their own pictures to tell or retell a story.
As students become more advanced, simply add another train car and swap the Beginning-Middle-End labels out for the temporal words labels. This can be used for retell, narrative production, sequencing, and is also great for producing how-to stories!
2 graphic organizers (B-M-E and First-Next-Then-Last) are also included!
As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated :)
P.S. The train graphics are also great to use with various activities around the classroom for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder!
