Fun picture stories to sequence are ideal springboards for language development. Children should be able to identify story elements and verbalize a sequence of events to tell a story. This product builds this key readiness skill with 12 stories about children and humorous happenings in their lives.
Each story is conveyed with 4 pictures. First students analyze what is going on in the illustrations. They must determine the time order in which the events happen. To do this, it is necessary to have time concepts of first, next, last, before and after. Students lay the pictures out in order from left to right and then narrate the story portrayed by the pictures.
With continued experiences arranging the cards and telling stories, children become more proficient in their use of vocabulary and syntax. This engaging activity provide abundant opportunities for language interaction and growth.
