This unit explores story elements and discusses their importance in literature. It consists of 8 detailed lesson plans. Plans can be used as is, or teachers can adapt the plans, or use printable materials to supplement their current unit on story elements. Mentor books are suggested in lessons, but a list of possible mentor texts are available in the resource section so that instruction can be adapted to meet a variety of levels and instruction can be differentiated. Included is a list of materials that are needed for each lesson. All printables for the unit are found at the end of the unit in the order they are used in the lessons.
