Great for fall or any time of year! Students will create "story stew" using the characters, setting and plot from a story they are reading or have read. This activity can be used with any story during whole group, literacy centers, guided reading/writing or independent time. Once they complete the recipe card, they can use the elements from their current story to write a creative story of their own. This is a fun and engaging way to practice story elements. To make it more engaging, have your students turn in their recipe cards to a pot or cauldron and you can pull recipes from the pot to share.
