I love the story Memoirs of a Goldfish, and it is perfect for teaching story structure! It is so engaging, and has a clear problem and solution, along with really fun characters and a clear setting! In this craftivity, students draw the goldfish in his bowl in the beginning, happy and alone. Then, they show their understanding of story structure (and the story) by writing about it. There are 3 different options depending on your level:
Beginning, Middle, End
Characters, Setting, Problem, Solution
Characters, Setting, Beginning, Middle, End, Theme
You can decide what you want your students to complete! Finally, they draw the goldfish at the end, happy in his tank with all his new friends!
These came out so cute, and my students had a great time making them! I hope yours do too :)
