Sometimes our students need help with their stories. It could be WHAT to write about, HOW to start or WHAT WORDS to use. These word mats will help them tremendously!! My students love these and actually ask to use them!
I created these to help my students when they were planning their writing. Even though we have anchor charts/posters around our room that are similar to these, it is still really nice to have them at tables/desks for the children (I also made additional copies to send home with them or you could keep copies in their homework folder).
What worked best for me was to print these (double-sided) on colored paper, then laminate. These word mats can be used for numerous activities so I hope you find them useful!
