First, next, then and last.
Three different assignments for one story. - Differentiation
1- Students write what happens first, next , then and last.
2- Students illustrate first, next, then and last.
3- Students cut and paste the picture to describe sequencing of events.
For some reason my students have a difficult time grasping this concept and want to tell me the insignificant details. I even had my students go back in the passage and underline where it said this is what happens first, next, then and last so they could see the most important details.
