Description
Grow a storybook pumpkin patch in your classroom or library! Just send home this cute flyer, and your students will work with their families to create a pumpkin based on a favorite book character.
Some teachers give extra credit for this project, since it includes reading a book and describing a character. I give each student who participates a spirit stick from Spirit Monkey (order early!) or a keychain from Geddes that they can hang on their backpacks.
You can display the books next to the pumpkins, and make an engaging autumn environment for your young readers! Fall fun with the focus on reading, not Halloween!
