I created this robust vocabulary word book to supplement the Harcourt Storytown basal series. It includes 30 lists of words (one for each week's lesson) and 4 blank cards for you to write words from your own word study.
Print out the book pages. Cut the pages into fourths or halves to put together the books. Bind, staple, or hole punch them.
How this works:
Students work through one box at a time. When a student is able to read through the box of words fluently, they may choose a sticker to put over the smiley face. If a student has to take time to sound out a word or spends a longer amount of time on a word, I highlight it. If a student is not able to read the box of words fluently, they are not able to put a sticker on that page and will try that box again the next day.
This word book allows for daily word practice with your students. A para, aide, or other adult helper could easily implement this with your students. It takes about 20-30 minutes to read through one box with each of your students each day.
