This is a fun reading comprehension pack on strange animals around the world. My class theme is around the world this term and my students love animals so I thought I would combine the two. They loved it!
The pack includes information on 5 animals to include:
* The okapi (Africa)
* Blob fish (Australia)
* Star-nosed mole (USA)
* Goblin shark (Japan)
* Uakari (Brazil)
Each animal text has 6 pages of information and activities e.g. word finds, cross words, oral language tasks, lost posters etc.
Suggestion: I love printing a coloured image of the animal rior to telling the children what they will be learning about. I cut the image up and give one piece at a time to the students. The children have to try and guess what animal it could be by looking at each piece. I ask them questions e.g. what does this part of the image tell you about the animal? Where does it live? What to the claws tell you? Is it a mammal etc.
I hope your students love this as much as my students did.
