In this lesson, you will be covering the concepts of:
• Who is a stranger?
• Reporting to trusted adult
• Responses to situations
• Never get into a strange car
• Don’t answer the door
• Don’t tell phone caller that parents are not there
• Follow instincts
• When to call 911
The lesson includes a link to four different videos to reinforce the concept of staying safe from strangers. The videos range from two to ten minutes in length. By using all three videos, the lesson provides very comprehensive instruction on personal safety from strangers.
This presentation has 19 slides and includes TEN different practice scenarios to use at the end of the lesson to evaluate students’ understanding.
I would schedule a minimum of 30-45 minutes for this lesson and, depending on your delivery pace and the amount of discussion that you have.
The PowerPoint is customizable and has a master slide that can be copied to make your own slides to personalize the lesson for your students and teaching style. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
Videos are NOT embedded but are links.
