CORPORATE STRATEGY (Level 7)
Discourse on competitive strategy is sometimes isolated from the thought processes of the strategy manager. We argued the domain of strategy should account for the mode(s) of thinking the strategist deploys when strategising. And so, we began the discussion with the question—what goes on in the mind of the strategy manager when confronting a strategy problem. We evaluated two opposing modes of strategic thinking. We sought to find out whether, if at all, those modes of strategic thinking can be used together either simultaneously, concurrently, or sequentially in tackling a strategy problem.
