Recently, these two products have become my best-sellers. They really do work well in tandem, and I've been fortunate that buyers like you have recognized it! Given their popularity, I've decided to bundle the two activities into one download for a discounted price.
The preview file is a .zip file containing full previews of each lesson series.
Individually, each item is listed at $4.99, for a total of $9.98.
This bundle is essentially a 20% discount at $8.00!
The bundle includes my Emotional and Behavioural Regulation in The Big Bang Theory, and my Frustration Toolboxes, exactly as they would be if you downloaded them individually.
The "Big Bang" lessons allow students to watch one of their favourite TV sitcoms and dissect it for emotional/behavioural content. Students observe the behaviours of the characters and the impacts they have on one another. Afterward, they create timelines that both summarize the plots within the episode (Language Arts connection), and also depict the transitions through the various emotional states that the characters experience, their behavioural responses, and what the triggers were.
The Frustration Toolbox takes the students knowledge of emotional/behavioural states one step further, and allows them to start really thinking about the strategies they can use to help their emotional transitions, and return to that calm place in the most effective way possible. Students create paper toolboxes using the clipart provided that they can post on the wall and on their desks to serve as visual reminders of the tools they always have at their disposal. Included in this packet are 24 scenarios for students to role play and discuss to put their strategies to practice, and a series of Weekly Toolbox Checks to keep their tools in good working order (which ones work, which ones don't, what tools are best for which jobs, etc.)
Both lessons series focus on encouraging solution-focused, growth mindset thinking, and plenty of opportunities for students to engage in critical reflection of their own behaviours and strategies to both emphasize the idea that managing ones own behaviour is always a work in progress, and to keep them engaged in that process throughout the year.
I have used both of these items in my various classrooms, and they have proven to be consistently highly engaging and thought-provoking for students of a variety of ages and abilities.
If you choose to purchase this bundle, first of all: THANK YOU, and second: remember to take advantage of TPT's credit program, where you earn 1 credit for every dollar you spend when you leave feedback on an item. Every 100 credits is worth $5 that you can put toward future purchases. $8.00 here means 8 credits - it's basically putting $0.40 back in your TPT pocket for next time! With so many $1 and below items available site-wide, that's nothing to sneeze at!
