This includes a flip chart for reader's workshop where students can reference pictorial representations when they are stuck on a word. Each card is half a piece of paper and can be stapes together or use index rings. The strategies include: sound it out, beginning sound, find a smaller word, stop and think, look at the ending, guess and check, story tell, chunking, cross check, look at the pictures, retell, use a word you know, back up and reread, cover part of the word, and reading words in a snap. These strategies are explicitly taught allows students to check in with themselves when they are stuck. Enjoy!
