This is a class project to grow plants in straw bales. Step by Step instructions are given of how to set up your bales and get ready to plant. This would be a great class project. You can incorporate science, math (measurement & prediction) and journal writing. It has a lot of cross curriculum possibilities for your classroom. It is hands on and the kids will love it. They will be excited to watch their plants produce vegetables. Then they could donate it to a local food bank. The possibilities are endless to this project. You could make it a family affair and have family members harvest the garden. It is perfect because it is for tight spaces, bad soil, and doesn't require a lot of water or attention after the plants are planted.
