I hear from parents frequently that keeping their child with autism or other developmental delays safe in a street or parking lot can be a challenge. I hope this teaching story will help! It uses child-friendly language and engaging graphics to teach what behaviors are expected around traffic to keep us safe. I have completely revised this product (12/15) to include black and white pages, an extension activity and task cards. Parents can use it with their children or teachers can use it as part of a transportation or safety unit.
Please note: this story is written for a child in preschool or kindergarten or a child that is functioning at the pre-k or kindergarten level. It may also be appropriate for a first grader having difficulties being safe around traffic.
You will receive 10 pages of the teaching story in color and 10 pages of the same story in black and white. Bonus: extension activity and task cards for crossing the street and parking lot safety.
