Use this guide to generate interest in Streetcar Named Desire before beginning the play. This handout is a bingo grid to gauge students' perceptions about some of the behaviors in the play. (Some examples: This person thinks women who drink deserve what happens to them.")
Students should circulate around the classroom and interview other students to see who agrees with the ideas in each box. They can yell "Bingo!" but it is also helpful to continue the interviewing until all of the boxes are filled in.
This is a great way for you to gauge your students' perspectives about sex, relationships, and violence before beginning the play -- and it's a great way to generate student interest in the story!
