Before reading the book to your students, introduce the book, explaining that Strega Nona has a magic pot that can keep making pasta until she gives the secret signal. Ask your students to think about what they would want if they could have a magic pot make anything they want. After having your students complete JUST the top part of their activity, have them share their ideas with their classmates. Then, read the book and emphasize how Strega Nona had to blow three kisses in order for her pot to stop making the pasta. After reading the story, ask your students to think about what they would do to get their magic pot to stop. Have your students illustrate and write about it on the bottom part of the activity page and then share in whole group.
