This resource explores the word concepts of "stressful", "peaceful", and "exciting" as they relate to real life connections between words and their use in the real world. The resource is formatted in BOTH color for use with a printer as well as in black and white for use with a copy machine.
Included in this resource:
48 picture cards - 16 picture cards per word concept- to use as concept sorting activity that follows your lessons/discussions of the meanings and conditions that can be categorized as "stressful", "peaceful", or "exciting."
In addition, I have included an optional cut-and-paste activity using the picture cards for older or more advanced students. This activity is formatted in two sizes to accommodate your printing needs and/or preferences.
I have also included a "suggested" answer key- as always- these types of activities can be flexible in their interpretation as the teacher sees fit.
These types of activities are challenging, however they are wonderful ways to engage every student. By formulating higher level word concepts and connecting vivid mental notations to the word's meanings and interpretations, students greatly enhance their working vocabulary base.
