Teaching Guitar Chords?
Designed for the music classroom, here’s a great little course/selection of 21 songs
to help develop those skills.
Using well known songs, the learner will study the chords: A, E, D, Em, E7, Am, C, Bm, and G.
Included is a handy practice fingerboard you can print off in colour and your young musicians can take home, catering for left and right handed guitars.
The song selection initially is based on known songs to sing with a focus playing. Some examples are, ‘Three Blind Mice’ and ‘Row Your Boat’. It moves to some folk songs like ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ and of course some Christmas carols for the festive season. This books ends with several protest songs like ‘We Shall Overcome’ and ‘Imagine’, which are great for units of Inquiry in PYP
Under each song you will find an information box with some history about the song. A great way to be included with ‘Where we are in place and time‘
A set of accompanying music scores
are also included, to ensure the same versions of songs are being taught.
If your students are studying the Primary Years Programme , the ‘Lyric Composition Sheets’ will align beautifully with the UOI - ‘How We Express Ourselves’
. Your students can follow the steps to create fantastic lyrics to the songs in guitar course.
The teacher’s guide has some handy hints on the following:
*Guitar Finger Board
*Guitar String Winder
