This is a simple, but highly effective activity that requires students to REALLY understand strip diagrams. Six simple problems, all using the same numbers, but fundamentally different math operations. I created this because, with other matching games I have used, students merely matched the numbers in problems without reading the problem and thinking.
Great for a one day intro activity or clarification for strugglers.
Pages 1-2 are student word problems - can be printed front/back on one page.
Pages 3-4 may be printed on card stock and shared, or one copy for each student. Students can also cut and paste the diagrams from these pages under each problem. I like to have students draw them out themselves.
Activity will take 20-30 minutes, depending on where your students are.
