This product helps students see examples of strong verbs and helps them consider word choice when using verbs in their writing.
There are four examples of weak verbs. For each weak verb, students are given three stronger verbs to use. There are pictures to represent each strong verb, and students must match the verb with the picture...this shows that you can't just choose ANY strong verb, but must choose the most appropriate one. (Check out the thumbnails if this sounds confusing...once you see it, it's clear!)
Finally, students choose from the strong verbs on the list and use them in a fill-in-the-blank paragraph.
This activity is a great warm-up, center, or homework assignment.
