Chemistry is a very difficult concept for students to understand, especially when it comes to size. In this activity, students will be comparing and contrasting atoms to cells. Their size, properties and what makes them different from each other. There are some sort cards that students can use to fill in the Venn diagram. This is a great opportunity for students to have conversations with their peers and really develop their critical thinking skills. This activity can be used as a pre- or post-assessment or formatively throughout a unit.
This activity can be used as a whole group, small group and/or individual activity.
