"Structures and Functions in Plant and Animal Cells Poster" includes teaching directions and masters needed for students to research key words, create and label drawings of a plant and animal cell, and a Thinking Map(TM) to "show what they know" about the parts of these cells, what the parts look like, and how they function.
Features of this lesson include an "Essential Question" to direct student thinking, links to student-appropriate websites for students to find their information, two extension activities, grading rubric for final product, Common Core alignments, and a Marzano scale for student reflection of learning.
Independent learning for average, above-average sixth grade learners.
Guided/Pair and Share learning for those sixth grade students that struggle with research and/or note-taking skills.
