This is a game that can be played in partners or larger groups. It does require the use of dice.
For each round, there is a goal specified. For example, one goal is to get the largest sum. Each round has a formatted work space for students to fill in the number that they land on from the dice roll. After rolling the dice for their turn, student can determine how to arrange the numbers. The sign of the integer is already filled in. Students must use their number sense to arrange the integers to best lead to the specified goal.
There are also potential lessons for students after the game is played. The class can discuss effective strategies used during the game and/or analyze the game boards to find equations that could have been arranged better.
