This log can be sent home in folders everyday. The log should be signed by parents on Friday, and it should be returned on Monday. It is written in language that makes students accountable for their actions.
This updated version includes a bubble for each day of the week for students to color at the end of the day. This can be used to show parents which color their student landed on the clip-chart that day. It could also be used if your behavior management system includes pulling cards.
In my classroom, I like to tape (at the beginning of the year) a picture of a mini-clip chart on the inside of my students' folders. This way parents can always look up what each color means (Outstanding, Ready to Learn, Teacher's Choice, etc.).
