Copy, laminate and cut out enough behavior charts for each student to have one. Attach to desk with clear contact paper. The chart shows each day of the week, followed by five smilies. The goal of the students is to have all five symbols remaining at the end of each day. Whenever a child needs a reminder about classroom behavior, mark off one symbol for that day. Associate each mark with a different consequence. For example, 1st mark is just a reminder, 2nd mark, loose 5 min. of recess, etc. At the end of the day, record number of smilies received for the day and any comments. Students with all their smilies at the end of the week could receive a small prize, etc.
