These are break cards to give to students who may struggle with social conflicts or emotional regulation. The student can hold up the card and show the teacher when they need to leave the classroom and cool down. I instruct students that the cards are to be used when they are feeling so mad or upset that they need to remove themselves from a situation before they do something that may get them in trouble. I often pair these with a timer so that the student knows when they need to return to class. They are small enough to be able to keep in a student's pocket for ease of use.
