Most schools have brochures available to give to parents regarding important school information. Why not have a brochure for parents on bullying created by students?
Each year my students create bullying brochures in 4th grades to be given out the following school year. This is done at the conclusion of our bullying unit. To assist the students in creating the brochure I show the bullying PowerPoint (included here) as their guide to complete the brochure.
The brochure is just a folded piece of white drawing paper in brochure format (6 rectangles) and students use each side:
Side 1/Front: Write What is bullying: includes the word bullying and the definition:
Side 2/opposite side of side 1: Write Physical bullying: definition and 2 examples
Side 3/Inside middle: Write Verbal bullying: definition and 2 examples
Side 4/last page of inside: Write Social/Emotional bulling: definition and 2 examples
Side 5/back of side 4:Write Cyberbullying: definition and 2 examples
Side 6/back middle: Write Ways to stop bullying: A minimum of 5 ways to stop bullying
Color and decorate after writing all information down
