Rather than finding an Escape Room to have your students complete, have THEM create their own!
In groups of 2-4, students will create an escape room to demonstrate their understanding of your current math unit. This product is generic and can be used for any grade/math strand. It is helpful if you've done an Escape Room with your class prior to doing this project. Includes a rubric based on the Ontario achievement chart as well as a checklist for students to ensure they have completed all the necessary requirements.
I had my grade 7 students do this at the end of our Patterning unit and the Escape Rooms were enjoyable and fun for me to solve/grade. They were given 4, 1-hour periods to work on it. Some of them got really into it and had each challenge in an envelope, and their story lines were hilarious. It's a great piece of assessment to show parents at interview nights, as it really ties their mathematical, language, thinking, and effort skills all together. You could even have students do the best ones as a review before a test. Enjoy!
