A few years ago I conducted a professional development seminar for teachers on how to write Letters of Recommendation for students. It was very well received, and afterward I posted the sample letter templates on TPT. Recently, a teacher reached out to me about writing a letter of recommendation, and I pulled out my info on this topic. What really helped me the most was having a form for the students fill out so I would have a reference point when writing the letter; I updated that form and have posted that, along with the "Tips for Teachers" that I also used in my in-service. I updated the "Tips" sheet as well. The student form proved to be invaluable for me, and if that sheet was completed, I wouldn't write the letter. It shares some of the responsibility of this task, which most teachers do willingly, even when they are feeling overwhelmed.
