Pop right into the school year with goal setting! This activity has two parts. The first is for students to think and then write goals they would like to work towards this year. This is a great way to have them consider what they hope to achieve in the coming school year, giving them a sense of empowerment and participation in their own learning. It is also an easy way to do an informal assessment of your
students’ critical thinking and writing skills.
The second part of this lesson is for students to design and illustrate a pop-up book about their goals. Not only are pop-up books fun to make, your students will have to think critically about design--how many illustrations to a page vs. their writing, spacing, colors.
My kids loved doing this project and I bet your students will as well!
I have lots of other fabulous lessons for creative book studies! Check them out in my store, Pop Gardens. As always thank you for stopping by!
