Cooperative groups can be a useful tool in the classroom, but forming groups quickly without complaints can be a challenge. Student Grouping Made Easy contains 30 cards that can be distributed to students. Each card contains 5 pictures that can be used to form 6 groups of up to 5 students in each group (depending on the number of students in the classroom). Because there are five different pictures per card, five different groups can be formed, allowing students to work with a variety of their peers throughout the lesson. This set also includes a teacher card that has a master list of all of the pictures.
-Mini study sessions: Students study with a group of peers for 5 minutes and then change groups and continue studying.
-World Languages: Students discuss a topic in the target language with one group, then practice the same topic again with a different group.
-Book talks: Students discuss their observations with a variety of students in a short amount of time.
My personal observations using this product:
-Students stay actively engaged due to the quick pace that this product allows.
-Transitions are smooth, especially after students become familiar with the product.
-Students work with a variety of their peers who they may not otherwise choose to work with.
