The purpose of this document is to provide the school-based SLP with a means to demonstrate growth in intelligibility within the population of articulation impaired students as measured over trimesters within a given school year.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Once a grade-level population has been determined, distribute the Classroom Teacher Intelligibility Rubric to each student’s teacher. Then choose a familiar and non-familiar listener to scribe what the student says as he/she calls the name for each picture on the Level One Core Curriculum Vocabulary. Determine the percentage of intelligibility per each listener and transfer it to the graph.
Repeat all steps once per trimester to determine student growth in intelligibility throughout the school year.
